Social Wines Donation Guidelines
With so many people raising money for so many great causes, we’ve created the following to help guide our charitable donations. Social Wines is proud to support charitable efforts that focus on:
- Animals and Pets
- Specific Local Needs - examples include:
- schools
- shelters
- street and neighborhood improvements, etc.
We avoid disease fundraisers as there are dozens of worthy organizations out there, and with limited resources for donations we prefer not to single any out. Additionally, the store does not donate to political campaigns or parties. Note that for consideration requests must be at least 30 days in advance (except for Marathon requests as described below).
Please understand that due to the abundance of requests we receive, we review all once monthly and can regrettably only support a small number.
Boston Marathon Requests
Because we get so many requests for donations related to the Marathon, we've developed a plan to handle these separately and as fairly as possible. We've earmarked a specific amount of our donation budget for Marathon requests, and will allocate these randomly. We will have two drawings: one on February 1st and a second on March 1st. We will randomly select as many submissions as we can on each drawing until we have exhausted the budget. We wish we could support everyone who asks, but since so many people want to do good through the Marathon we have to choose somehow. If your request is selected we will contact you as soon as possible after the drawing date. Thanks for your understanding, and best of luck!
